We weren’t able to find the right one in the states, so we expanded our search to breeders in England. Sharon wanted to show and loved the black and tan color Cavaliers, so the search was on. From then on we have been a Cavalier home.ĭuring the next couple years, we watched and learned and enjoyed showing in the conformation ring. He was a gift to our mother Rhoda from our father. We loved her so much we decided one wasn’t enough, so we added second, a tri-colored boy we named Scout. They are truly the most loving breed we have ever encountered. We decided that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel would be our next dog and welcomed our first Cavalier, a Blenheim girl named Maggie, into our home. Though we've had dogs all our lives, nothing compares to a Cavalier. Many years ago our family saw a Cavalier and fell in love. Rhoyal has been a family effort since 1993. Guided by a continuing commitment to the breed, we have been actively showing in both the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, USA (CKCSC USA) club and American Kennel Club (AKC) since 1994. Rhoyal Cavaliers was established by us (sisters Sharon and Rhonda) and our mother, Rhoda. We are delighted to share this wonderful breed with you, as we feel that Cavaliers are simply the best breed! We are members of the local Cavaliers of Puget Sound Club, the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club USA, and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Cub in the UK. We can never stop learning and improving. We have been blessed with friends and mentors in the United States and abroad who have guided us, shared their experience and continue to teach us. Consequently, the puppies we sell as pets are of the very highest quality. It is important that these attributes be given high priority as the future of Cavaliers depends on responsible, informed breeding. Our emphasis is to breed Cavaliers that represent the breed in type, beauty, temperament, conformation and health. Consequently we will not always have puppies available, in which case we will gladly refer eager puppy seekers to other equally responsible, conscientious breeders.Īll of our puppies are thoughtfully bred and lovingly raised. In order to maintain an intimate relationship with our dogs we choose to keep our numbers small. We also offer financing to help you bring home your new family member. Our Cavaliers are happy, affectionate little housedogs who will adapt readily to either the active lifestyle of families with children or the quieter lifestyle of stay-at-home seniors. We can help you find your new best friend – please contact us with any questions. We hope you enjoy your time looking at our Cavaliers. For more information, please visit our Health Guarantee page. All of our puppies receive a six way vaccination which includes Canine Coronavirus. All our dogs undergo genetic testing and are examined for the heart, eye and patella conditions that Cavalier breeders need to watch out for. My family and I spend plenty of personal time with our dogs and their babies, to make sure they are socialized and to evaluate their health and temperaments. Here at Shady Grove we combine old-fashioned compassion and know-how with the latest technology and techniques. Our success in showing is a great way for us to confirm that our breeding selections are correct, and gives us the perfect forum to share information and techniques with other dedicated breeders. I’ve decided to take a step in a new direction – we have recently begun showing dogs in the American Kennel Club (AKC). Over the years, I’ve come to realize there is more to this breed than love and companionship. I founded Shady Grove more than 15 years ago, with the intention of turning my passion for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels into a career.
